LSU - Overrated?
With all due respect to Josh Britton, let me offer a suggestion:
LSU is, currently, the most overrated team in college football. Why? It's got a little something to do with the asinine preseason rankings. The poll voters have a tendency to keep preseason rankings in place until a top team loses. For example, the number one and two teams, USC and Texas, respectively, have not lost. Therefore they remain in their position. LSU had a preseason ranking of number three, thus they remain in that position.
There's just one problem. They've played one game. One. Yes, I know there was a hurricane, but they've only missed one game. Florida, Georgia, Florida State and Virginia Tech all have records of 3-0 with wins against quality opponents, but they won't move up the ranks until LSU loses. All this because of a lame preseason polling system.
Weak.

They are over-rated at number 3, though they're still a pretty good team. Anyway, in the SEC they'll play enough tough games to find their appropriate level soon enough.
I'm of the school that says the first ranking polls should come out in October. The pre-season rankings are always way out of whack.

It's clearly a pitty ranking. SDSU should be on top, but sunny San Diego always gets the short end of the pitty stick.

Please what this has to do with his original post I don't know. But can't you wait till sat night before making such jugdments. THere is a reason LSU is ranked so high. We just rule.

Fair enough, but I'm starting to think that beating Tennessee won't mean much. They're pretty weak so far.

None of this matters at this point. What matters is that I had hoped to be busting Rick's chops at this point for the performance of the Rangers versus his early season bragging. Now, given their lackluster performance, I could technically do that. Unfortunately, the Twins are only two games ahead of the Rangers in the wild card race, and pretty much out of the playoff picture entirely. So, we can bust each other but not much fun. Rats.
