Planned Parenthood's Outrage

What a horrendous thing to do.

PP did the same thing for the tsunami earlier this yeear. It does seem silly, but in a sense -- what else do you want PP to do? They don't *have* food or water, they have birth control products. Neverminding your views on their morality, these are important products to quite a few people. PP is offering their services to those in need -- I don't know what else you would like from them.

Maybe, oh, money?

Money??? PP is a 501(c)(3) charitable non-profit organization, not a for-profit business. I don't really think it's their place to be giving away money.

I hate PP. I think they are an evil organization. But I can't argue with the spirit of what they are trying to do here. They are generously offering their "product" - contraceptive devices and services - to those in need. I don't see how this is a "horrendous" thing.

Sorry but I can't leave this alone. I wish someone would respond because I honestly feel this merits comment.

The Carolina Panthers are offering free NFL tickets to some hurricane victims. See http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2155587.

Is this "horrendous"? Is it an outrage?

I repeat, as this is just like PP's action: it is silly, and obviously not what these victims really need, but I don't think it's "horrendous" or in any way blameworthy.

And this is no different than what PP did...

Depends on how you view abortion. If you believe, as I do, that abortion is the taking of a life, then there is a huge difference between giving away tickets and giving away death.

You're probably right that PP may not be able to give away money. Then they should just get out of the way.
