Patterico Skewers L.A. Times
Patterico is out with his annual round-up of liberal bias, general incompetence, and some bright spots from his favorite target; the L. A. Times. It's amazing to me (OK, not really) that when the media make huge mistakes in coverage of big news items, it's virtually always in a way that tilts left. And all this while some think the media has a conservative bias.

Well, the media DOES have stories with conservative bias. As they have stories with liberal bias.
This is not debatable. What's debatable is how the two compare and how good a job they do in general. And a lot of that will have to do with where the viewer sits, politically, or so it seems to me.
So, when I view or read the news, I (being what is called more "liberal") find bad reporting that errs on the side of what has been called "conservatism" - although I think that unfair to actual conservatism. When more "conservative" folk watch it, they see what they think is "liberal" bias.
I suppose it would be hard to get an objective view. I suppose that for every example given by Patterico of supposed liberal bias, someone else could provide an example of conservative bias. But to what end?

In the comments to his post, Patterico notes that the same volume and severity of counterexamples is not noted from liberal folks looking for it (most notably Media Matters). See comment 98.
They've had plenty of time and opportunity to prove your supposition, but haven't. The end you ask for would be to prove balance; a worthy end. They haven't done so. Patterico's contention is, I believe, they haven't because they can't.
