What a slapdash way of putting it! Here is what I complained about:
–A so-called public health advocate publicly burning condoms. While condoms aren’t perfect, they are (or, were) an important part of decreasing the spread of AIDS in Uganda.
–That same so-called public health advocate suggesting that all gays be imprisoned. Do you support this? If not, why do you support him?
–That same so-called public health advocate expressing his belief that witches were making people sick. Witches!
–And Rick Warren going out of his way to praise the guy.
The intentions aren’t pure, and they lead directly to terrible outcomes. That’s what I’m complaining about.
Jason,
(wearily) no I don’t condone imprisonment of gays.
I also don’t think the witchcraft belief complaint which you reiterate more than once matters not when it comes to distribution of anti-virals.
You think wave vs particle QM issues can be resolved by adjusting your premises and I for example don’t believe in the germ theory of disease. Neither of which matter when we take anti-biotics to cure an infection or turn on a computer.
Jason,
I’d add, what specifically is Mr Warren praising him regarding? Did you really find that the Saddleback church’s ministry in Africa had no good effects? What was the nature of their ministry in Uganda?
