I&#8217;d have to say my &#8220;assumptions&#8221; are a little different. I don&#8217;t fear &#8220;The Right is concerned about a monolithically hostile Islam that the West must defend itself against.&#8221; instead, I have this notion that religions always have people with a different level of faith and commitment from the casual to the very fervent. Islam is not &#8220;moderate&#8221; internally so the violent fervent will always be with us as long as there is an Islam.<\/li>\n<li>US <a href=\"http:\/\/www.danieldrezner.com\/archives\/003687.html\" target=\"_blank\">decline of influence<\/a> &#8230; going strong since 1945!<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/theanchoressonline.com\/2008\/01\/31\/are-our-ideologies-our-idols\/\" target=\"_blank\">Ideology and Idol<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/meganmcardle.theatlantic.com\/archives\/2008\/01\/helping_the_housing_bubble_alo.php\" target=\"_blank\">Blame shifted away<\/a> from Bush and the Admin, by a non-supporter no less.<\/li>\n<li>A person who left the <a href=\"http:\/\/episcopalchurch.typepad.com\/episcope\/2008\/01\/jaeger-finds-jo.html\" target=\"_blank\">fame\/fortune treadmill<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>More <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pseudopolymath.com\/?p=2854\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Heh, an impression of the Left?
