{"id":1507,"date":"2009-02-27T17:27:03","date_gmt":"2009-02-27T22:27:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/stonescryout.org\/?p=1507"},"modified":"2009-02-27T17:27:03","modified_gmt":"2009-02-27T22:27:03","slug":"government-the-problem-or-the-solution","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stonescryout.org\/?p=1507","title":{"rendered":"Government: The Problem or The Solution"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.rasmussenreports.com\/public_content\/politics\/general_politics\/59_still_believe_government_is_the_problem\">That was then<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>In early <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rasmussenreports.com\/public_content\/politics\/election_20082\/2008_presidential_election\/59_agree_with_ronald_reagan_government_is_the_problem\">October<\/a>, as the meltdown of the financial industry gained momentum following the collapse of Lehman Brothers, a Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey found that 59% of U.S. voters agreed with Ronald Reagan that \u201cgovernment is not the solution to our problem; government is the problem.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>This is now:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Since then, the stock market has fallen roughly 3,000 points, millions of jobs have been lost, nearly a trillion dollars has been spent so far to bail out the financial industry, an additional $787-billion government stimulus package has been approved, and a new president has taken office who has proposed spending billions and billions more. <\/p>\n<p>Despite all that, a new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey shows that the basic views of the American people have not change: 59% of voters still agree with Reagan\u2019s inaugural address statement. Only 28% disagree, and 14% are not sure. <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.redstate.com\/pejman_yousefzadeh\/2009\/02\/27\/a-liberal-moment\/\">As Pejman Yousefzadeh said at RedState<\/a>, &quot;It may be Barack Obama\u2019s White House.
