{"id":2033,"date":"2009-07-14T18:40:53","date_gmt":"2009-07-14T22:40:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/stonescryout.org\/?p=2033"},"modified":"2009-07-14T18:40:53","modified_gmt":"2009-07-14T22:40:53","slug":"wheres-that-stimulus-money-going","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stonescryout.org\/?p=2033","title":{"rendered":"Where&#8217;s That Stimulus Money Going?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I was driving through West Virginia and Kentucky last weekend and saw a number of signs advertising that some particular road improvement project was being funded by the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.recovery.gov\/?q=content\/act\">American Recovery and Reinvestment Act<\/a> otherwise known as the &#8220;stimulus plan&#8221; or by its more derisive name Porkulus.<\/p>\n<p>About half the projects I saw on the road appeared to have already been completed. The other half were in various states of progress.<\/p>\n<p>But I couldn&#8217;t help wonder about the money spent on the signs. <a href=\"http:\/\/archives.chicagotribune.com\/2009\/jul\/05\/travel\/chi-ap-mi-stimulus-roadsign\">Turns out I&#8217;m not the only one<\/a>. Frankly, I can&#8217;t see why the money was spent on the signs.
