More telling to me is that, broken down by party, most Republicans trust you but way more Democrats don&#8217;t.<\/p>\n<p>Another example of why it&#8217;s hard for government to cut spending (and why conservatives try to hard to hold back increases); Between 400,000 and 500,000 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/news\/uk\/home-news\/half-a-million-activists-join-anticuts-march-2253791.html\" target=\"_blank\">protest against government spending cuts<\/a> in the UK.<\/p>\n<p>Media Matters becomes a parody of itself, ignoring the media in general and concentrating solely on Fox News. <a href=\"http:\/\/online.wsj.com\/article\/SB10001424052748703712504576232601198172020.html?mod=WSJ_Opinion_MIDDLETopOpinion\" target=\"_blank\">James Taranto wonders<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Does a group that proclaims its purpose to be industrial sabotage qualify [for tax-exempt status]? It&#8217;s hard to imagine the answer is yes. Could, say, AT&amp;T set up an organization to sabotage Sprint and do the whole thing free of taxes?<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Did you know that opting out of Medicare (not asking for your tax money back, just not taking advantage of it and paying the tab yourself) will cause you to <a href=\"http:\/\/theblogprof.blogspot.com\/2011\/03\/federal-judge-to-seniors-take-medicare.html\" target=\"_blank\">forfeit Social Security<\/a>? Big, big government, anyone?<\/p>\n<p>The European Union has an idea for clean air; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.telegraph.co.uk\/news\/worldnews\/europe\/eu\/8411336\/EU-to-ban-cars-from-cities-by-2050.html\" target=\"_blank\">ban all cars<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Irony Alert: President Obama accepted a transparency award from the open government community, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.politico.com\/politico44\/perm\/0311\/not_a_secret_anymore_a00ccd98-0d9e-4822-8936-168f3a51b959.html\" target=\"_blank\">in a closed, undisclosed meeting at the White House<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Barack Obama <a href=\"http:\/\/cnsnews.com\/news\/article\/obama-2002-toppling-brutal-dictator-dumb\" target=\"_blank\">was against wars<\/a> against brutal dictators that did not directly threaten the United State or its interests, before he was <em>for<\/em> them.<\/p>\n<p>A salute to the men and women of Japan &#8212; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/world\/2011\/03\/31\/japans-nuclear-rescuers-inevitable-die-weeks\/\" target=\"_blank\">the Fukushima 50<\/a> &#8212; who are putting their health and, indeed, lives on the line to bring the reactors under control. <\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Speaking tearfully through an interpreter by phone, the mother of a 32-year-old worker said: \u201cMy son and his colleagues have discussed it at length and they have committed themselves to die if necessary to save the nation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe told me they have accepted they will all probably die from radiation sickness in the short term or cancer in the long-term.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>And finally, &quot;regulating relationships&quot;.
