Our office area took a power hit last night. Things are partially back here at the office.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/gregmankiw.blogspot.com\/2011\/05\/libertarian-paradise.html\" target=\"_blank\">Libertarian<\/a>? Seems to me that someone is confused by thinking anarchy is a libertarian ideal.<\/li>\n<li>The hear\/see\/speak no evil crowd <a href=\"http:\/\/senseofevents.blogspot.com\/2011\/05\/no-one-is-more-blind.html\" target=\"_blank\">and an airline incedent<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>I think it was more <a href=\"http:\/\/www.firstthings.com\/blogs\/firstthoughts\/2011\/05\/10\/art-and-our-intoxication-with-ugliness\/\" target=\"_blank\">complicated than that<\/a> (replacing ugly with beauty). I think the artistic aesthetic which judged art for its beauty got replaced by one that judged based on emotional and visceral &#8220;impact&#8221;. I think that is a mistake in approaching art, but one nevertheless which prevails in many circles today.<\/li>\n<li>What I fail to see is the American left repudiated <a href=\"http:\/\/normblog.typepad.com\/normblog\/2011\/05\/left-inside.html\" target=\"_blank\">and rejecting this movement in any public way<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>An <a href=\"http:\/\/lashawnbarber.com\/archives\/2011\/05\/10\/14-years-ago-in-march\/\" target=\"_blank\">anniversary<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Rationing <a href=\"http:\/\/newsbusters.org\/blogs\/nb-staff\/2011\/05\/10\/open-thread-obamas-medicare-plan-simply-rations-care-says-wapo-commentator\" target=\"_blank\">of medical care<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Them <a href=\"http:\/\/thepioneerwoman.com\/blog\/2011\/05\/impending-doom\/\" target=\"_blank\">angry cows<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>OK then, in the <a href=\"http:\/\/rustbeltphilosophy.blogspot.com\/2011\/05\/huntergathererpart-timer.html\" target=\"_blank\">view of the left racism<\/a> (!) is a primary driver of thought. More seriously, I think there is some basic truth to the notion that while the right views the left as naive the left views the right as evil.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Speaking of which, this is more the <a href=\"http:\/\/borepatch.blogspot.com\/2011\/05\/character.html\" target=\"_blank\">reality of what drives the right<\/a>, the Presidents &#8220;clinging to guns, god, and yada yada&#8221; is not.<\/li>\n<li>One of the better remarks on the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.isegoria.net\/2011\/05\/war-dogs\/\" target=\"_blank\">dogs of war photo essay<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thefirearmblog.com\/blog\/2011\/05\/11\/suppressors-on-mythbusters\/\" target=\"_blank\">Mythbusters<\/a>, and I&#8217;ll note that unsuppressed guns as sound effect in movies don&#8217;t sound like the real thing &#8230; so you shouldn&#8217;t expect suppressed ones to do so either?<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/anastasias-corner.blogspot.com\/2011\/05\/offending-mythbusters-busted-take.html\" target=\"_blank\">Mythbusters<\/a> of another sort.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Good morning.
