Well, I was busy this morning … and have an early flight back to the windy city (from the temporarily windy SouthWest) and won’t have time then. So, here’s what I found out in the wide world today and yesterday.<\/p>\n

  1. A little grist for the Habermas\/Ratzinger\u00a0can secular society survive question<\/a>.<\/li>\n
  2. Our\u00a0happy regulatory state<\/a>, who needs freedom when you can ban happy meals?<\/li>\n
  3. Education\u00a0as signaling<\/a>.<\/li>\n
  4. GOP speechwriters\u00a0bread and butter for the summer campaign<\/a>.<\/li>\n
  5. Hypercard<\/a>? Heck, how about AREX? Now, that was completely cool.<\/li>\n
  6. Grunt<\/a>! I’ll allow here that in college I began lifting and went from a completely skinny prototypical pencil necked geek to a bench press of 225 while at a weight of 155. I’m lifting again, and Wednesday before Thanksgiving managed a one rep max of 195. Woo hoo.<\/li>\n
  7. National\u00a0debt by nation<\/a>, how about consumer debt? Howzzat figure in?<\/li>\n
  8. To\u00a0solve a problem<\/a>, using the tools at hand.<\/li>\n
  9. Biz taxes<\/a>.<\/li>\n
  10. Somebody\u00a0hasn’t read much Solzhenitsyn<\/a> on the subject of suffering. I’d recommend beginning with the\u00a0First Circle. <\/em>Or read\u00a0this<\/a>, which I read (most of) on the plane ride west.<\/li>\n
  11. Those emails don’t\u00a0come of as from seekers but salesmen<\/a>.<\/li>\n
  12. A\u00a0book recommended<\/a>.<\/li>\n
  13. Lawyers might defend it<\/a>, but when you have to “go carefully through the rhetoric” to figure out if he really made the promises that the speech(es) seem to imply, the rest of the world calls that lying.<\/li>\n
  14. Kind\u00a0like all them California individualists<\/a> all dressing and speaking identically.<\/li>\n
  15. “Famous historian”<\/a> … whom I’ll admit of whom I’ve never heard. But then again apparently his field, to judge from wiki, is contemporary American history … a topic on which I have read little if anything.<\/li>\n
  16. Getting closer to an\u00a0actual viable commercial replacement<\/a> that meets the “gets better mileage” than my current car.<\/li>\n
  17. Security and the world,\u00a0part one<\/a> and\u00a0part two<\/a>.<\/li>\n
  18. Obama and\u00a0the sociopath connection<\/a>.<\/li>\n
  19. Meritocracy\u00a0and misunderstanding<\/a>.<\/li>\n
  20. One serious\u00a0can of RAID<\/a>, wonder what the bug looks like now.<\/li>\n
  21. Modern science\u00a0and the totalitarian state<\/a>.<\/li>\n
  22. Our failings\u00a0highlighted too<\/a>.<\/li>\n
  23. And some advice for\u00a0putting Church and life together<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
