This is really really dumb. Do people doubt that Julius Caesar existed? Do they write articles about it? Is that something that needs defending. Wiki doesn&#8217;t\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Saint_Nicholas\" target=\"_blank\">doubt he exists<\/a>. But apparently journalists are clueless. I suppose you could wonder about the tense &#8220;exists&#8221; vs &#8220;existed&#8221; &#8230; which depends only on your faith in the Resurrection or lack thereof. But he was a historical personage of that there is basically no doubt.<\/li>\n<li>Youth and passing\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/borepatch.blogspot.com\/2013\/12\/on-growing-up.html\" target=\"_blank\">into maturity (or not)<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/althouse.blogspot.com\/2013\/12\/about-that-6-year-old-boy-accused-of.html\" target=\"_blank\">Half a point in defense of the young boy\u00a0<\/a>who kissed his classmates hand. Half a point for pointing out that the act was problematic. Loss of a point (or two) for not realizing the scope of the infraction was minor at best.<\/li>\n<li>But the victory dance was done, the web site is fixed, mission accomplished and all that. How\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nationalreview.com\/corner\/366102\/man-critically-ill-son-gives-healthcaregov-after-more-50-tries-andrew-johnson\" target=\"_blank\">can that be<\/a>?<\/li>\n<li>Privacy\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/krebsonsecurity.com\/2013\/12\/help-bring-privacy-laws-into-21st-century\/\" target=\"_blank\">and law<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>More silly science &#8230;\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.sciencedaily.com\/releases\/2013\/12\/131211070213.htm\" target=\"_blank\">newsflash<\/a>! People with low impulse control have &#8230; (wait for it) poor impulse control.<\/li>\n<li>To give the same source its due &#8230; things\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.sciencedaily.com\/releases\/2013\/12\/131211093945.htm\" target=\"_blank\">going bang are cool right<\/a>?<\/li>\n<li>Verse\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/seraphimsigrist.livejournal.com\/1140334.html\" target=\"_blank\">and photo<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>In favor of\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/isteve.blogspot.com\/2013\/12\/12-per-hour-minimum-wage.html\" target=\"_blank\">min wage increase<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Not so much\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/gregmankiw.blogspot.com\/2013\/12\/the-eitc-is-better-than-minimum-wage.html\" target=\"_blank\">in favor of same<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>A\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/wdtprs.com\/blog\/2013\/12\/st-edith-steins-dialogue-between-ambrose-and-augustine-2\" target=\"_blank\">dialog<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Well, I&#8217;m back in town.
