Interesting article on antiheroes. I’m still thinking, but certainly there are some heroes in modern movies - Frodo and Gang in the Lord of the Rings series (albeit based upon an older book); Superman, of course; Luke Skywalker…
Still, the author’s point is well taken. Most of our modern cinematic heroes are flawed humans not always acting out of the most noble of reasons.
I’m not so sure that is a bad thing, though. It gives us more realistic heroes and, given that they are mere mortals with many flaws and fears, that almost makes them more heroic, in my way of thinking.
